It was around 3:00p.m. we were getting ready to leave and like I always do I cast one more time. I was using a plain orange rooster tail from wal-mart. I threw out about 15-20 feet from the bank and as I was coming in with it I had a few bite from some small bass. but when I got about 5-6 feet from the bank a fish took it. it was not a hard strike at all. it started taking my line out like crazy I had to loosen my drag a lot. it took me about 15min. to land this fish because I was using 5 pound test line spider wire. I finally pulled it out of the water and it was 22 inches long and 10 1/2 pounds. it was just a plain rainbow trout. and the very next weekend an older man next to me caught the exact same weight and length as I did. I have not been up this year I hope the fishing is still good. but another good place to go is the I-82 ponds between union gap and zilla we pulled a 9 pound 10oz bass out of there. and pond 8 the best way to catch you limit is use a bobber and orange
and blue power bait I know the power bait floats but it works.
