Sure there are larger fish in that lake but not in numbers. My best landed on that lake was 5lbs back in the 90's but my biggest hooked was around the same time frame..... Ol' Moon Belly, she jumped at the boat and spit my buzzbait and the only thing we saw was the moonlight shining off her belly as she splashed back into the lake, she was a toad! Nice trip and thank you for the honest report :)

9/2/2017 7:15:27 AMNice to get a Lake Howard report. I have fished that lake a couple of times. My Grandson lives on the lake and he is the one that now owns my old Bass Tracker. He and my little Great-Grand-Son have caught bass from my Tracker on the lake. I never had that boat on the lake because I thought outboards were not allowed. My best Lake Howard bass was only a chunky 14 incher that hit a black jig back in May 1995.

It used to be you just had to keep it out of the water but then they changed it to it couldn't be attached to the vessel. Maybe it changed back? Had one resident try to go toe to toe with me one year cause my old Tracker's skeg was touching the water.

The county code prohibits the use of internal combustion engines on certain lakes within the county. Since electric motors are not internal combustion engines, they are allowed. When motors cannot or are difficult to remove, gas cans must be removed, fuel lines disconnected, and the engine bagged. Bagging the engine is simply enclosing the propeller shaft and hub in a plastic bag and leaving it in the tilted upright position. By taking these steps, the motor is not operative or leaking petroleum product into the water. The means of propulsion for the vessel is now by electric motor or manual operation."

Glad they are biting there have to go there again...had back to back August days of over 50 bass on mostly top water minnow far end from launch is good for top water and to right of that. Nothing huge there think 14" was biggest I got but lots of action! Keep ripping lips.
