I've heard this lake is cleaned out on trout about a week after opening day. I thought I would give it a try regardless. NO TROUT. Caught 6 perch worth keeping on dick nite spinners and wedding rings. Not sure what type of fish are in this lake, but tried fishing crappies towards evening with jigs and caught Largemouth one right after the other. The bass started out about 4 inches long and as the sun was setting over the trees the bass got bigger. Biggest one caught was around 14 inches. That's fishing jigs, a true bass fisherman might find some big ones in there. Plenty of down trees and docks to fish for them. For all you bass finatics, all bass were released properly and unharmed except one 6 incher who somehow swallowed the jig to his tail. If you like bass fishing you really should give this lake a chance. I did see a few trout surfacing right before dark but they didnt like anything I had to offer.
