Wow! It has been a while since Munden's Rising Son Adventures has reported here at Northwest Fishing Reports! The reason.....the fishing has been off the hook and I have not had time!! However, the Fall King Run is just building and hopefully with the help of this report you can get out and enjoy some of this great fishing!

I have been focusing on the Columbia Gorge for the early part of the run. I will now be transitioning over to the Hanford Reach. Trolling has been my main technique using super baits and small spinners behind Pro-Troll rotating flashers. In the Fall, the fish are concentrated on the bottom to find the coolest water possible. I use 10-12 ounces of lead and line counter reels to position my gear right on the bottom, but not too close to hang up. This presentation has been working great for me from Bonneville Dam all the way to Bigg's Junction. I will continue to use this technique on the Reach, but I will switch over to strictly Super Baits with the cooler water on the reach. Oranges, pinks, and greens have all had there time to shine, but it is important to switch gear out throughout the day to find out what the fish want. This changes daily and really can make a difference. One piece of advise I will share is to not get caught up in all the hype of the current fishing trends. The buzz right now is the 3.5 spinner, but there are many different options and ways to tweak these offerings to be different and stand out in a crowd. One of the main reasons I feel like my boat does so well, is that I refuse to fish what everyone else is fishing. Play with different colors, sizes, and scents to be different! Most days it pays off in a big way! I had days this year that #4 and 5 blades did way better, also 2.5 and 3 blades. I also make my own spinners and add things to them to get a slightly different look than the factory spinners that are being sold. This is huge! A local retailer I know sold over 4,000 spinners in the last 3 weeks. The last thing I want to do is fish the same spinners that every other boat on the water is fishing. This goes for super baits too. Different colors, sizes, and meats in the bait will give you an edge over just running the same thing as everyone else.

Attached are some pictures of my trips starting mid-August and running through this last weekend! If interested in the Gorge, give me a call and we can get you booked for Springer trips in late April and May and Fall trips starting August 2018! My dates are filling fast so it is never too early to get your dates reserved!

As for the Reach, I have seats open on October 1st! This is my only openings, but look for my post here, and my Facebook page to show cancellations and last minute openings that may arise. Good luck and tight lines!
