Fished at 7 from the bank twitching maribou jigs hoping to entice some coho, skunked out for the day. Loads of fish rolling. Lots of pink still in the river, but all very colored. Saw lots of coho jumping too, some colored some fairly chrome. Guys down the bank from me were drifting Dick Nites and were hooking up. Saw several lost. Also saw a couple pinks caught and released, and three or four coho caught and kept.

My only bite came when I switched over to drifting Dick Nites too, but it was off as fast as it hit my lure. I came ill prepared to drift and didn't have much tackle. Lost a spoon on a log, lost another on someone else's clump of heavy line on the bottom. Snagged the Dick Nite that I had a bite on the very next cast, and seriously bent the hook getting it unsnagged. Mys last spoon (not a Dick Nite) proved to be too heavy for the current, and I was having to reel pretty fast on every cast to get the correct action on it. Eventually bailed on that and went back to maribou jigs before calling it quits around 11.

Saw what was either a huge king or a dolphin (haha) roll right in front of me. Couldn't believe the size.

Going to have to go back out again with a full drifting setup. Was the only thing that seemed to work today.

What part of the river? We pulled wiggle warts up and down the lower river from 11-4 not a nibble.
