10/16/2017 11:42:12 PMToo bad most of the lakes around me are no way near clear. That lake looks clearer than any I have seen out there. lol. Awesome you caught some good bass. Nothing like a lesser fished place without the toxic algae scum look. I will have to see if swimbait will get the bass going in the lake I know I want to try more. I just always get the time of day wrong for bass. out here

Water clarity is relative to each specific lake, that particular pond is typically gin clear. Any variation from 'normal' has the capacity to negatively affect the bass. Even some of the lakes I fish that have maybe six inches of 'visibility' can be shut off by a brown or green algae bloom. There are ways to deal with it and it usually involves slowing way down....something I struggle with greatly ha ha.
As for time of day? I have never really bought into that when it comes to bass. Early in the season mid day can be the best time as it's usually warmest part of the day and the water is still typically cool that time of year. In the summer it can be a nearly 100% night time bite unless you can find deeper fish in cooler water. The key is to just get in the really bassy looking stuff and work it over! If nothing happens, start working deeper from there and don't be in a hurry about it. Bass are lazy, especially largemouth, get an easy meal in front of them and time of day is irrelevant.
