11/28/2017 10:11:39 PM Many of the places that have crappie on the west side of the state are small (less than 10 acres) and because of that shouldn't be named on the internet for the sake of regulars who already fish it. There are also some lowland lakes that get stocked with trout that have crappies aswell. Lake cassidy for example is one of these lakes, there are several others aswell. The lakes without hatchery trout have the best populations and size of crappies as the trout compete for resources with them and vise versa.
A good way to obtain location information (for any fishery) is to use google maps to locate lakes/ponds/etc then check the googles to see if it gets stocked, then check to make sure its open for fishing and explore. Look for big ponds and small lakes with no stocked trout. The best places require personal footwork and homework to get to, some require a sever bushwack to get to then a float tube to fish it properly. Good luck.
