We launched the Pandemonium at Ft. Spokane about 9:30. Lots of rigs in the parking lot, and a little ice on the ramp from previous launches, but it wasn't too hard to find a clear path. After mediocre results at Spring Canyon two weeks ago, we decided this trip to motor upstream from the confluence, out of the stained water.
We deployed all the usual Kekeda and other flies, squidders, Rapalas and a couple Needlefish spoons on the way to the mouth. Leaded lines and flat lines at this point. First fish was a big, beautiful wild rainbow just past the park on leaded line. We crossed the mouth and started up towards Split Rock, and added downriggers to the mix. After an hour or so, one more nice wild fish came in on a spoon, and that was it for several hours. Very few marks on the sonar as we followed the shoreline up towards Hunters. At 4:00 we motored back down to the confluence and put several lines back out to troll our way home. A nice little Chinook was was boated, and that was it for the day. Beautiful day, tough fishing.
This was the shakedown cruise for my new iTroll Precision Speed Controller on the kicker, as well as the Python remote steering system (integrated into the iTroll controller). It was great being able to fine-tune the speed, and steer with buttons on the iTroll control pad, or with the Python's wireless remote. Alan at ifishsolutions.com was very helpful in providing the hardware and installation advice.
No fishing for a month now, as travel and other obligations will keep me off the water until mid-March :(

Many thanks craiger for your business and the report using your new equipment from us at iFishSolutions.com . Getting the speed you want and being able to steer the kicker remotely can be a game changer.
