2/17/2018 12:16:54 PMMrShades: Not sure about inside the Sound down around where you are, but I can tell you that out on coast, a 6" Berkley grub ("new penny" color) on a 4oz bullet head jig works great! I've not targeted starrys, but I get them 2 or 3 times a day in 50' or so FOW where there's a sandy bottom. I'm generally targeting rockfish and ling cod but always seem to come up with the starrys when I use the new penny grub. I'm also drifting with the current and that does make difference as well.

2/18/2018 5:00:44 PMI have caught Starry Flounder using smaller sized Point Wilson Darts and Sand Dabs vertical jigging Buzz Bombs. Indeed, I have found that the Darts will catch just about anything in Puget Sound. When I was a lad we used to catch Sand Dabs, Sculpin, and the occasional Sea Run Cutthroat using a small piece of bacon or a slice of the first Sculpin caught casting off the beach at Seahurst Park in Burien. Great fun with light tackle.
