Oak Patch Lake (Mason County) Fishing Report

I was just driving with no destination in mind as I do on my days off and ended up in Tahuya State Forest. Drove around the roafds for awhile seeing some water and roadkill when I found an area to walk down to this lake. Saw little toads everywhere along the shore and lots of bluegill and bass swimming around. Went back to the car for the trunk flyrod. Caught several small bluegill and bass up to 10 inches. Seen several bigger splashes from probably bass. Lots of dragonflies mating over the water. Pretty little lake. Never heard of it before today.

It’s nice to hear about some little lesser known places. Sounds like a relaxing afternoon. I’ll have to add this one to my list of places to check out.

That takes me back a ways. Haven't fished there in about 50 years. My mom used to live near there, and there were a lot of lakes in the area. That one was kind of shallow, with pads. Rapalas and 6" plastic worms worked well as I recall.
