The wife and I started Walleye fishing in '16. We have only fished Banks and Moses so far, but we hunt (sort of) whitetails at Fort Spokane. We live in Wenatchee so it's not so far away that we can't do day trips.
Where exactly do you launch? Any info would be appreciated as although we know where the deer are but the lake is an unknown.

9/19/2018 2:29:00 PMLaunching right now for us, we live in SW Spokane, ranges from Kettle Falls in the north to Spring Cyn at the south end of the lake - we primarily
use Lincoln, 7 Bays, Ft. Spokane - Porkypine Bay has been closed since April of '17 due to a landslide, repairs are currently in progress (see/google
porcupine bay landslide for great updates on repair progress - supposed to be done end of next month, but it looks like they still have lots to do).
Wenatchee is a pretty good haul for a one day R/T, but there are a couple of good motels in Davenport if you get tired and the guy that owns the
Davenport motel knows the lake very well - his grandparents were the caretakers at Ft. Spokane b/4 Grand Coulee dam. I'm sure there are folks in
Wenatchee that know Roosevelt very well - getting to know any body of water takes time and someone willing to help/share - we're closing in on
80 is the only reason I'd suggest someone younger that might last a little longer. Good luck !! Lets do email or PM for further info. Randy & Phyl

9/19/2018 2:54:56 PMWe were fishing primarily in 24-30FOW and most of the marking was at 28' (on a helix7) - we were far enough up there was some
current, 0.4mph, so it was ~0.6 - 0.7 up and ~1.1 down. I kept a pretty close eye on the blades, both smile and indiana to make
sure they were rotating well and adjusted the speed accordingly - also on the rigs with slow death hooks I wanted to make sure the
worms also turned too. Water clarity was best we've seen this year - could see the lures down at least 8' (we can see them on the sounder).

9/20/2018 7:35:11 AMGreat report, We retired to Coulee City three years ago just so we could be close to Banks Lake and the best walleye fishing in the state. That was true three years ago, then last year was really slow, and this year I would love to see it pick back up to what it was at least last year. Last week I read your report about your trip to Banks and I could feel your pain as we have had several trip like that this year, so this Tuesday when my wife insisted that get out on the water for a sunny day with no wind I really didn't have a good excuse not to go but I knew all we were going to do was drown worms and burn gas. We launched at Northrup and headed out to some deep water that I thought may have a fish or two since the water was only 63 degrees. To my surprise my wife boated the first walleye of the day in less than 5 minutes, it was a nice fat 19 incher. We kept on a NW coarse across the lake in 50 - 55 fow and trolled back and forth on that coarse for the next 4 hours by then she had her limit and I had 4 walleye and 3 perch, we also lost at least 20 walleye (one was a monster) and released 7 or 8 perch under 10 inches. This was by far our best trip of the year and wouldn't you know the fishing would start picking up just as we are getting ready to head to Arizona for the winter. Best of luck to you and I will be watching for more of your reports.

had a couple of tuff years fishing there as well. We used to snowbird, but age finally caught up to us a few years ago, so it's now tuff it out in the
north woods, bank fishing and doctor visits. Really glad to see somebody finally had a good day at Banks - we'll probably do the motel/yurt
visits for a couple of days at a time next year - C U then. Have a safe trip, there's a lot of crazies out there.

9/20/2018 7:48:20 AMboatstothewall there is an outstanding bunch of folks in Wenatchee that have put together the Wenatchee Fishing Forum on Facebook. These folks live for fishing and are more then happy to help folks out, they even have a breakfast meeting at Smitty's Restaurant every monday morning at 7:00 as well as a monthly meeting were guest speakers talk about and teach fishing technique. They are a very family oriented group and you can't go wrong meeting these folks. Good Luck
