Lately I have been exploring some of he waters within a short-ish distance of Kirkland. I decided to check out Larsen today, not really knowing what to expect. I went out, and I was the only one fishing today which was nice. The lake is nice and quiet which made for a relaxing morning. I was trying to cover water, so I started with a spinnerbait and did not have any luck. I ended up dragging more weeds in than anything. I switched over to a new lure shortly after. I threw my new booyah prank out, and it was my first time throwing this lure. Man it was cool. The nice thing about this lure is that you can work it like a crankbait and get down to maybe one or two feet below the surface, but it is also a popper. I was working it as a popper and about 10 or 15 minutes after throwing the lure I had a big topwater strike! It was fun to watch and the fish put up a good fight. The fish looked like it was about a 12 inches long give or take half inch, and somewhere between 1.5 and 2 lbs. Overall, the day was fun. I think it will be a nice spot to fish as the fall hits and the bass start moving shallower.

Wa/Or. guy, since you are right over there... if you in fact wind up getting a float tube, it would be interesting to check out Totem lake, in of course (The Totem lake area of 124th).
Interesting because the lake has darn near no access. It has been shrinking over many years. The perimeter is completely choked off with brush.
There is though a small public dock.
I fished it a few times via the dock in 2004-2008 ? Nothing for me. I did though see very large carp, 5-10 lbs.
The lake was known at least for Crappie, 20+ years ago.

I would entertain just climbing over the high edge of the dock, into a float tube, and covering the entire lake. It would be your own lake (so to speak). (-:

Quadfather,
If I do end up getting a float I might have to go check that out. One of the other options I am thinking about is maybe getting a pontoon because once I am back in Oregon there is some great fishing on some of the rivers which I could float on a pontoon but not a float.

Hit Boren and try throwing a Kastmaster(3/8 Rainbow has gotten some action) for some Cutt’s or a Drop shot for Sunfish and Perch and maybe a LMB or Crappie.
