Trying to locate a lake near my home I fished Diamond for the 2nd time this year. Opening day, Cabin Boy and I hit the lake at 4:15 am and limited out with 10 great trout and back to the boat launch by 6:00am. Smallest was a newly planted Rainbow 15" and the largest was a 21" Brown. This time of year we’re after the BASS. Not like the Midwest though were the Bass are feeding before the bad weather sets in. We tried many different lures from spinners to worms. Anyone can catch a fish on a worm but not today! I cut the plastic spoon off of my rainbow cd5 rapala lure, no additional weight and worked the shore line for quit sometime then BAAM just like the Batman cartoon! The water busted loose producing a nice 4 1/2 pound Bass. God just loves those who enjoy themselves and helped me land my fish, made my day. Cabin Boy and I are off to a few near by lakes over the next few weeks. Check out the site to read about the fishing in our boat.
