Right off the bat I set up my favorite flasher and lure and tossed them into the lake. Really. Just tossed them in the lake as I had neglected to attach them to my line...
Set up another pair, attached them to my line this time, and started trolling. About 2 mph at 30’, 70’ setback. In about an hour I had a hit hard enough to release the line. Reeled everything in and re sharpened the hooks and re set. Went back through the same area and caught a 17” + Cutt. Nice!
Only had about 3 hours to fish but had a couple other hits but none hooked. Nice morning on the lake!

Well, at least you’re honest, and can have a chuckle, lol. If you haven’t thrown lures, pliers, etc. over, then I say you aren’t fishing enough.
Nice fish!

I once did that on a family trip for kokanee in Montana. We had a big mesh basket that we pulled along in the water with the boat. I put the latest fish in the basket and slipped it over the side. The knot, however, had come undone and we watched 40+ fish quickly disappear in the depths. It felt pretty horrible to waste those fish.

Nice chubby cuttie. I caught one a little over 16" this morning, and one about 13". 1.35-1.60mph, 50' deep. Cowbell and God's Tooth.

Be there done that! Beautiful day to be out fishing and good looking cuttie.
