Hit the lake just before 6 and trolled from Coulon to around the side of Mercer Island. Tried a number of different changes that did not work. I could see big fish swim by on my fancy sonar but had nary a bump or strike. I even tried one of the lure's touted by many here as 'God' like in it's catching abilities, but nope, that didn't work either.
Bagged it toward the end and scouted out a Perch school. Dropped a line and pulled it a couple dinks I tossed back, thanking them for taking the 'skunk stink' off the boat!
It was still nice getting out on the water, even though it was overcast and I got sprinkled on a bit.

I’m curious if there is something that could have been changed in your tactics or if it was just bad timing ie. air pressure/weather and the fish just weren’t in the mood. Haven’t target cutts in the big lake but I want to, considering they have are a little beefier than those in Sammamish

FWIW, I've been fishing for Crappie and bass from some parks along Lake WA in the mornings before work as of late. Usually I get quite a few bites, but did go this same morning and only got a couple bites. It was very slow. I think the weather/atmospheric pressure had something to do with it.

I fish trout a fair amount in Lake Washington and have done well. I think it was a case of ‘lockjaw’, but there certainly more things I could have tried if I had had more time. Work was calling.

Well.... if it were easy to catch lots of fish every time we hit the water, catching fish would be no big deal. Nobody would do it. Being humbled like this just makes the good times better!

Better luck next time, hope to see you out on the water.
