This report is for last Sunday. Launched out of Porcupine Bay, finally, with Jay and his neighbor Travis and headed upriver to the buoy 5 area. Spent the morning casting jigs and trolling smile blades. Caught 30 total eyes and kept 17 eaters; everything else was too small to not feel life we would have been perch fishing. Green and brown curly tail grubs and blue/red smile blades produced the best. We spent most of out time trolling the main river channel until we picked up a couple of fish and then we would go back and hit that area with jigs. Best fish of the day would have been an 8+ lb. female, for Jay, but a novice net operator miss judged the fish and she got knocked off at boat side. We also caught 4 slimers trolling as well; no real size but they took the hook pretty deep so we kept them as required.

Yet another informative report, thanks again. So when you are casting jigs so you drop an anchor or just drift? So far all my walleye this year have come on bottom bouncers, just haven't seemed to find enough density to try jigging much. Been up above buoy 5 for the most part myself, doing OK but not great.
