Whitestone Lake is one of the few lakes in my region exclusively managed for warmwater species, primarily Largemouth Bass. Many of my customers and myself had noted that the lake wasn't producing the trophy sized fish it had in the past. I wrote a letter to WDFW expressing my concerns and was pleasantly surprised by their invitation to go sample the lake with them one evening. I did a little pre-sampling fishing and caught a decent fish on a large swimbait and a few others on flukes and senkos. In this video I captured our sampling efforts as well provide details on the results of the sampling for those who are interested in how the bass population is doing in this lake.

Wow. Way cool and informative vidio thanks for sharing. Where about in Washington is this lake? I fish potholes a lot but the kids and I are always up for new spots?

In north central Washington outside of Tonasket (aka middle of nowhere!), follows signs to "many lakes recreation area" on old highway (across the bridge in town) then turn off towards Loomis. Also Spectacle, Wannacut, and more lakes past Loomis in both directions. My old stomping grounds! Stop by Apple Cart Fruit, about 3.5 mile north of Tonasket to buy some apples from my dad!
