This is a two day report from 1/15-1/16. Yesterday was a decent day of fishing. Launched from Spring Canyon at 9:00am and trolled many types of gear. Mostly dodgers and hoochies. My dad and I ended up catching 2 smaller Kokanee at 15” and 16” and one hatchery trout. Released a couple really nice native trout probably 20+”. Overall not horrible. Today, 1/16 we started a little earlier around 8am and immediately picked up a nice 20” Kokanee and lost two others within minutes of each other. We fished until 12:00pm and took home our limits of Kokanee (YES KOKANEE!) two @ 18.5”, a 20” and a 21.5” 3.5lb slab!! The kind i hear about but never have caught until today. Hearing the reports we didn’t expect to catch any Kokes. We even let one go while targeting some trout. Glad to see the Kokes show up as this was my first large Kokanee from here.

Nice...this winter hasn’t been lucky yet for us. Haven’t been in the right spots. Glad to hear you got limits. Gives me hope.

I don’t have much hope honestly. My dad didn’t even believe me when I netted the first one. Best tasting fish in my opinion!

Thanks for the great report, glad you did good! We were down there on the 7th and couldn't find them. I wonder if it has something to do with them lowering the level. Maybe that moves the plankton downstream. Anyway, good job.

Thanks! The fish stomachs we full of zooplankton and looked like mysis shrimp but I’m not an expert on it. They had been eating well! Already planning another trip soon!! Hope you get on them!!!
