Decided to make the drive up to the Snohomish on Labor Day to take advantage of the time we will have on it before it closes, even though I'm much closer to the Green. Found the access spot near the Hwy 522 Bridge south of Lord Hill Park on google maps and gave it a try. As soon as I got down to the water I saw the fish were there as evidenced by the occasional jump or roll. Boy were there lots of people, which is I guess to be expected on Labor Day, but everyone was super nice and seemed to be enjoying their holiday morning on the river.

I was on the bank rigging up around 6:30 and finally got my line in the water around 7 due to some reel struggles. Given that this was a new spot for me I tried a few different setups; drifting a pink corky and yarn, throwing a jig under a bobber with some Egg Scent, Even throwing a twitching jig like what seemed to be most other folk's strategy that morning. As a side note, the water was slow enough that I barely used any weight on the drifting setup, just enough to get my line out there.

After a couple of hours of no fish and trying all these setups I eventually went back to the drifting setup but this time with a small, pink and white Dick Nite spoon with a dab of egg scent oil on it. This seemed to do the trick and I ended up with 3 fish on over the course of about 45 minutes, two of which I landed and one that I practiced my "long line release" on ;)

After that, the sun started to come out and the bite subsided so I decided to call it a day and go home with a 4.5 lb buck and a 2.5 lb hen which both smoked up nicely later that afternoon. Now I've got some eggs curing and ready to use on the next pink salmon adventure or save for when the coho start running in earnest. Overall a pretty great morning off work on the river

P.S. Props to the dude that fell over halfway back to the bank while fighting his fish and still landed the fish! Absolute legend haha!
