I sit down to write this with a glass of wine, our two limits of nice Browns; 8-13" cleaned and on ice; the raft is clean and the truck is washed, and its only 4 p.m.
Our plans earlier in the week were to go out and be there at 6, but with the rain last night, I decided to sleep in till 7. As it was cooler today just as I suspected. We were in the water by 9 and to the south end of the lake, where I might add it is quite deep. I would estimate 50 feet or so. Glad I found an "anchor" on shore and tied it good before we set out. It was our first outing in an inflatable raft... They look bigger on the box than when you have two people, life vests, one tackle box, net and "Anchor Rock" on board. I say all that because there is now signage posted that Prohibits the use of internal combustion engines! Hope you have strong arms or a good charge on your trolling motor! I had neither!
We were anchored no more than ten minutes and I got a nice 12 incher, then another and another. Power bait is the key. They like it all. We had limited and I rowed furiously "AGAINST THE WIND" and got in at noon. Nuff said, now I'm going to go make a batch of brine and get those babies ready for the smoker tomorrow! May all your bites be hard and hooks set sure! .................."honey, keep the line TIGHT!!!"........

P.S. she says, "watch out for weed fish!" but that is campfire story for another time.
