After reading the latest reports on American Lake, my son and I got up at dark o'clock and left for the lake. We got there and all setup by first light expecting to catch our limits and be home by 0930. We used every color of Power Bait they make, 2lb leader with egg sinkers. WE got plenty of very light hits and only landed one trout about 10 inches long. Around 10:00 we packed up and drove around the lake looking for places to fish. I think next time we'll take the boat and try to fish the lake until we find fish. American Lake is a lake you need to fish more than once, just to get to know the water.
