Sunday was an excellent day for fishing , clear skies very little
wind and cooperative fish. My friend Peter and I went out and tried our luck for the 2nd consecutive day. The fishing adventure started at 630a on the lake with early signs of a prosperous day. Peter caught the first bow of the day a nice 10"-11" fish. His luck went south from there. A few minutes later the fish started hitting my flasher/red wedding ring maggot and worm tipped
combo. Just like the day before on Clear Lake a deadly combo. Early going the fish were just tapping the bait. We missed several fish before one fell victim. The highlight of the day was when we made a turn in a cove and a solid hit occurred. On the end of the hook was a large Rainbow 23" long.
This bow started off slow and seemed to be easy which was not the case. When it saw the small net he became a strong fighter. Finally with help from Peter we netted the nice bow.
A little word of wisdom if you venture out on Spanaway bring a big net.
Total catch of the day we boated 8 trout.
