Well I had to drop a line. went out to mineral late sat. night, my
brother had his wedding on opening day of all days so I wasn't able to go out, but I caught up with two of my buddies that were
out at mineral camping. Finally got out there about 10 pm sat. night and quickly learned my buddy junior caught a five ponder and my other buddy had limited on 10-18 inchers.
Needless to say I was ready to go the next morning. Finally got out on the bank about 7 am and threw out the first cast. About twenty minutes later I look over to see my pole doubled over (its a 4foot 6 inch ultralight by the way) so I grab on and go to set the hook and don't feel it, it started running in towards me so I start reeling up the slack and all of a sudden it comes to life, drag screaming and big fish jumping out of the water. It proceeded to take 4 more leaps and 75 yards of line before the guy in the docked
boat thank you immensely whoever you are) was able to net it for me. I finally looked at it on the bank all 13++ pounds of beautiful rainbow trout. Only got two other bites all morning long, but
I sure didn't here anybody hollering about any other big ones. Anyone that doesn't believe me ask anyone camping along the railroad tracks inside the campground about the 13 pounder caught sun. morning it was shown off to all. Just another wall hanger from mineral!!!! Number 5 at least 5 pounds or more over the last three opening weekends. Good luck
to all and look out for JR and Steve tearing em up at mineral!! Tight lines
*Oops did I forget to mention I was using 4 pound main and 4 pound leader to catch that 13 pounder on mineral lake. sorry didn't want to break your heart! no lie !!
