MY EXPERIENCE: Surface temp. 58 degrees at east end. At 40 to 80 feet, temp was at 52 degrees. Limited aquatic vegetation limiting food supply. Minnows noticeable yet sparse along the shoreline. Caught five trout, each between 8 and 11 1/2 inches on #12 Pheasant Tail and #12 Muskrat Nymph (variation)
with silver wire ribbing and grizzly collar tied full. Ate the one biggest trout (pink and delicious); yet, upon examining its stomach, sadly found nothing but daphnia, or water fleas, which I did notice abundantly distributed in the surface waters.

According to local reports, some large (20-inch) rainbows inhabit this lake; yet was not able to locate them. All trout caught were unusually lean because of a reduced food supply. Whether winter's record snow pack and the late summer are the cause is speculative, I presume. Noticed three other tubers on lake and 20 or so hikers camped at the west end of the lake.
