Went to RIFFE LAKE on MAY 22, We had read about some good fishing there and the excellent variety of fish this lake has to offer. We put in a Mossyrock Park at 7:00 AM (nice boat launch and dock) and headed to the north shore to fish along the bank. We trolled using Lake Trolls with a weding ring and a piece of worm. We have an excellent side locating fish finder and it worked very well for us this day. We trolled for about 4 hrs and saw a lot of fish on the fish finder but did not have a bite so we decided to go over to the south shore and try it there. We located a lot of fish at the 9 ft level and put the down rigger on to get down to the fish. We put on a piece of worm and some power bait at the end of
the wedding ring and we got fish on imediately. These fish would hit so hard and fly out of the water 2 ft then head for the bottom my reel screaming all the way. We only had about an hour left before we had to go but landed three fish and had about 6 on. The average size of these fish were 16" and by the way they were Steel Head Trout. This was our first time on this lake but we will be back now that we know better how to fish it.
