Had so much fun the evening before, decided to give it a shot again on Saturday. Much more boat traffic this time (4-6 boats) but still not bad even for this small lake. As before, the fish are all small, but still lots of fun on my 7', 2wt flyrod. Used a sinktip and a slow retrieve for a decent pick. About 8:00 there was a definite increase in the surface action, and I switched to a small humpy fished dry. Lots of action, but it was starting to get a bit chilly and I'd managed to forget my sweater, so I headed the float tube back to the launch and called it an evening. Lots of fun, but the small fish and limited size of this lake definitly call for a bit of catch-and-release if the fishery is to last more than another couple of weeks. I've heard the perch fishing in there is good. I didn't get any myself, saw an angle from one of the shoreside houses catch a nice one, so if anyone has any info on the perch in this lake, I'd love to hear about it. Once the water warms up and the few remaining trout in our local lakes go off the bite, I'm always looking for some alternative flyrod action in the N. Snohomish or S. Skagit county area.
