Got to the lake about 9 in the am and launched our boat from the north boat launch.Nice morning, very slight breeze, kinda hot but not too bad yet.

We had a decent day with probably 10 walleye and a half dozen small mouth. But the kicker was,...as usual, none of the fish were very big.The biggest walleye topped out at 14" and the biggest smallmouth was 12''(he fought like a champ though).

The heat drove us from the water at 12:30.

Caught most of the fish on a chartreuse worm harness spinner behind a bottom walker. The rest on jigs.I rarely do any good with any color but some variation of green.

Where are all the big walleye I used to catch in the early nineties? They keep getting smaller and smaller.I never catch any less of them, they just get shorter.I could write the same report for Scootney Res. ten times over

And,a nice thing was, I got checked at the boat launch by a friendly Game Warden ,courteous and polite, just doing his job.Its nice to see one every once in a while.
