Hit up Martha again this morning. Started out with my trusty yellow spinnerbait. Caught 2, 1-10"-er and 1 6". Then decided since everybody has been talking about drop shotting, I should give it a try. Got another 1 about 10". Switched to a white spinnerbait and picked up another 10". Talked to a homeowner, who said he'd seen two about 5-6# swim by a little earlier. Switched to a green tubebait and worked the docks to the north end of the lake. On way another homeowner said he saw some big ones swim by as well. By the time I got to the north end, it was time to head home. I stayed about 20' out from the docks and kicked my way back with the tube bait in tow. On the way back I caught one at 3.3# and 17". It still amazes me how well these guys fight!! I can't wait to hit that 5# mark!!!. On the lake at 7am, off at 1pm. water temp 70, slight breeze, no clouds. Lots of trout fishermen out, but I was the only one targeting bass.

Thanks! I forgot to add, last week I lost a crankbait on a submerged log. The wind was blowing enough that I couldn't see into the water to see how deep it was. This week, the water was like glass, so when I got back to that spot, sure enough, there is my crank. Was able to reach down with my net enough to catch one of the hooks and rip it away from the log! Back in my tackle box after a weeks "curing" in the lake!
