Fished off of my buddy Alan's girlfriend's dock with him, her and my girl from about 930 last night until a quarter after midnight. The girls were dropshotting nightcrawlers and probably landed 20 perch, 4 single pound bass and a couple of squaws between the two of them. Alan was dropshotting a black leech and i was pitching a black 1/4 jig w/chartreuse tail. Skunked for like 2 hours..........(girls slaying 'em) Around midnight he landed a 2 pound squaw which he thought should've been a smallie then i landed a 3.9 lb smallie. Called it a night and pulled the crawfish pots that were soaking ended up with about 20 or so keepers. Overall a really fun/exciting first night fishing adventure. Still waiting for the big girls to come back. Should be soon right?

Should be very soon for the big girls to come back. I caught two post-spawn females at Trout Lake last night. Within the next 2 weeks I figure they'll almost all be on the bite.

What did you use for bait in your crawfish pots? I've been trying to catch them in Lake Washington and either have bad bait, or I'm in a barren area. If I can eliminate one cause, I'll know about the other. Thanks!

i usually just throw pieces of perch in the pot. then i toss it into a bed of weeds and/or lilies. i dunno, probably just luck.

Thanks! I've been using Triploid carcass. That's oily enough it should do the trick. I must be fishin where they ain't.

Dude......don't kill the big girls ok? In fact, try not to kill any of the Smallies or Largemouth....They aren't near as good as the perch you catch. Take all the perch you want!
