5/29/2011 8:17:00 PMThe cutt. fishing has slowed a lot on Samammish since the Dec/Jan time. What are your trolling with? Also, what part of the lake are you fishing? The middle of the lake where the weather buoy is, is usually pretty good..

5/29/2011 11:39:00 PMThe weather buoy....? Well, it's yellow,, and it floats,, and it isn't a living thing.... so it will just be the only floating weird thing in the lake. You can't miss it. (-:

5/30/2011 12:52:00 PMPop gear and a red wedding ring with about a 18inch leadrer and chunk of worm 45-65 pulls back 1.0 - 1.5 mph shall do you some luck !

There used to be a video on The Outdoor Line of a guide showing & explaining the setup he uses out on the lake. If you can find it it would be useful.

6/1/2011 10:22:00 AMMy 2c. I've been doing fair with about a fish/cutt an hour. Using wedding ring with small chunk of worm 30" behind a Flasher.
Typically start at the launch and try the area in front of the creek/park, if nothing, then go out into middle and work up to Buoy. The weather buoy, by the way is not far up the lake. http://green.kingcounty.gov/lake-buoy/default.aspx

I use a long 40' mono leader then leaded line. One to two colors out. Cutts seem to HIT when I goose my speed a little occasionally. No fish finder, no down riggers for me.

6/3/2011 6:16:00 AMIf you start out at the docks at the south end of the lake, and head up the middle of the lake, you'll come upon the weather buoy pretty quickly. It's in the middle of the lake east / west wise, on the south end of the lake, as opposed to middle of the lake 1/2 way from south end to north end. Another lure that works pretty good for cutthroats is a Needlefish spoon, maybe in a perch pattern. Good luck!

6/28/2011 8:47:00 AMThe Needlefish work well, I tip them with a crawler too, firetiger is a nice pattern, I change out the big single hook for a smaller red gamakatsu hook. Still the go to is the wedding ring, smiley blade. Also try herring if you get the chance, people say herring works better on the Lk WA cutts, but you never know. I have tried brad's herring lures and caught nothing on them. Some guys love them, I have little confidence in them and usually go back to other lures, so maybe i need to give them more of a chance.
