Decided to do some bass fishing for the morning. Lake Washington was definitely a no go, checked out Sammamish with Gringo Pedescar. We got there when they were opening the gates. A small bass tournament was going on. Waited in line and launched. We hit the west side of the lake and got some decent action in the morning using sniper bolts. We got a few decent ones, dinks and a bunch of perch. Two of the smallies were really long and skinny, almost looked to be post spawn fish. Ended the day back in the lilly pad field. Got one good blow up and that's it. Called it a day around 1PM, We were Roasting. Boat traffic sucked coming back, parking lot was filled, big line of boats on the road waiting to get in.

The fish were indeed long and skinny. One of my smallies was 19" and only 3.3lbs.

Is that little white thing on your right in the second picture the 'white bolt' bait? lol :-)

That's kzoo's fish checker - he has to inspect each fish before releasing. It was a good day to be on the water..

I used to have a couple of those. Yukon wouldn't even wait for the fish to be brought into the boat. Cherokee got so excited one time that she tried to walk on the gunnel to get past me to check out the fish that she fell into the water. At least she was wearing her life preserver. Both dogs were Alaskan Malamutes and 25 some years apart. Yukon from 1978 to 1991, and Cherokee from 2001 to 2009, 3 years ago tomorrow she died.

Dogs are always good company. Cotton always needs to check out the fish and give them a friendly lick or bite. Dreading the day when he gets old though, that'll be a tough day.
