Wow, I haven't fished Sammamish in months! Finally made time for a few hours today to get ready for winterizing.

Beautiful morning out on the water. But tough conditions. Calm and blue sky. Water temp at 64.

Fan casting with a small swimbait. Then started fan casting with a larger swimbait. Found a monster school of perch.

Went out a little bit deep. Tossed a tube out. Hopped around and get a strike. Just a dink.

Decided to move out and as I'm looking for a new spot to fish, I see my sonar has a few arches at 35'. Swing back around and tossed the tube with nothing. Dropped the DS out and didn't take long before I got another strike. Just a dink. Tossed it around and get myself a 1.75#. Caught a total of 4 on the DS around the same 10x10 area. Biggest was the 1.75#. 2 tiny dinks, and 1 at about #1.

Boated across to the other side of the lake and tried to see if I could find anything in the shallows. Wow the water is clear. Pitched around a few docks with not even a nibble. Started moving out deeper and found a fish at about 12'. Not big, another 1#.

Rotating, I make a cast with a DS in about 15' and I didn't feel the strike, but I saw my line swimming away as soon as it hit bottom. Set the hook and it feels like a decent fish. I see the fish and not bad. Oh wow, I see 2 others following it. So I relaxed a bit and just let the fish swim around so it wouldn't spook the other 2. One was about the same size and the other was a little bit bigger. The 2 disappear and I scoop my fish in. Another 1.75#er.

I fished a bit down for about 15 mins and swung back and tried to catch those 2 fish I saw, but they are gone or not interested. Bummer.

Caught a few more along the ways. Mainly 1-1.5#. A few dinks in the mix.

Pitched out my DS in 20' of water and a few twitches and I feel the tick. Set the hook and this feels like a nice one too. Woot, 2.29#.

Continued on and got another one at about 2#, with a couple of smaller and dinks.

I pitched my DS on a corner of a dock and jiggle for a couple of seconds. I feel the strike and see it swimming underneath. I set the hook and holy smokes, it feels like I have a tank! It does 2 drag strips. On the third, it broke off. UGH. I knew I should have retied after the previous fish. I'm guesstimating ~3.5#. But since I never saw it or didn't get to catch it, it could have been a 5+#, LOL.

I do get another 2#, and it was croaking at me like a Squawfish! I look in it's mouth and it has half a craw getting crunched by the gullet?

Caught me a nice football on the deep side of a dock. Biggest fish of the day at 2.60#. Had buddy following too.

And hour has gone by and I wanted to see if I could get that biggun that got away. Worked that area for about 15 mins without a bite and called it quits.

Productive day on the water. Wasn't too cold in the morning. By noon, it was very comfortable.

Until next year.

Great day. Congrats. I'll be going to Sammamish some day again, maybe in a week or 2. Only small ones on my lake lately.

Sounds like you did great out there! I was worried I wasn't going to see another report from you this year.
