Went fishing with friends Tom Jacob and Aaron Borg (visiting from Spokane). My plan was to get Aaron into some pinks as he has not ever caught a salmon (other than the 8" shaker last year). So I told him come on over, the pinks should be jumping into the boat. WRONG. We started fishing Shipwreck at 6:45am, using three rods with humpie set-ups (white flasher/pink hoochie/herring strip). Depths ranged 65 ft and up. First bite at 7:10, 55 ft, missed hookset. Second bite 7:45, 60 ft, missed hook set. Third and final bite, 8:20, 65 ft - fish on! Aaron got the pink up to the back of the boat, but before we could net him off he came. Counting last week that's nine fish in a row missed. I am definately feeling frustrated! We fished until noon with no more bites. Also ran over to the Green Can for an hour, nothing going on there except lots of wind. Hope the two guys in the 12 ft aluminum boat made it back to Mukilteo OK. No fish was worth that run. Will try again Monday...

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the update and your efforts to keep us informed. I have been waiting to hear they are in thick before I make the effort, so hearing that is not the case yet is appreciated. We went out on the 10th and took 1 in 6 hours which is poor. I posted that trip on your site. There were a lot of boats that day so I imagine there are tons of hopeful anglers out there this morning hoping they are finally in. Maybe this morning’s rain will help. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks. I wish more folks would post their salt trips here. Have a good sunday.
Dave
