We fished the Everett Blackmouth Derby on Saturday, March 20 that was hosted by the Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club. We started our day at East Point and trolled toward Baby Island. About 15 minutes into our day, we had a big hit and the fight was on. After several long runs Norm landed a nice 14.29 lb. Blackmouth that was good for 2nd place in the Derby and the $1500 prize that went with it. We stayed in that area for several more hours but only had one more take down which we didn't hook. At the end of the day we moved to the Elger Bay area and Allen caught one more keeper that weighed in at 6 lbs. Overall there were 27 fish weighed in for the derby. The winner was a beautiful 18 plus lb. Blackmouth reportedly caught in the Green Bank area.
