After reading reports of fish caught from the beaches in area 9, I got some tips from fellow WL member on gear and decided to hit 8-2. I appreciate the tips!

A little research of my own and I had a plan to hit the beach after work and try to get my buddy on his first silver of the season. Can you tell by that huge grin?? Congrats buddy on #1 of the season!

I've brought in 4/5 fish so far out of 4 trips so far on my boat, but wanted to try something new and glad I did. Only had the one fish hit and stick for my buddy, but had one other nice hit on my gear that didn't stick. Surprised at how close to shore these fish will attack a presentation. We fought the eel grass for about an hour before deciding to move down the beach, wish we had done that sooner because as soon as we cleared the weeds it was fish on! Watching my buddy run down the beach chasing this salmon once it ran the shoreline was quite a site! I told him to stand still and let the drag do it's thing and tire out the fish, then just back up and drag it on the beach. Why he decided to run down the beach while fighting this fish I'll never know but it was entertaining!

Pink and Chartreuse with green spatter-back double glow squid did the trick on this one.

I've seen a lot of comments asking members for their fishing spots on local beaches and urge you to just get out there and fish. The fish are in and just about any beach in area 9 or 8-2 can potentially produce fish, as well as the rest of the PS beaches. No other fishermen surprisingly at the beach I decided to hit today.

Tight Lines!

Great report! I'm new to the area and don't have much bank salmon fishing experience. Do you mind sharing what kind of set up you used? I agree that just getting out and fishing is most important, but I'd like to have some idea of how I should be rigging. Thanks!
