Started fishing at 7 am. Anybody know what time they actually open the gate? 6:30 am seems too late in the Summer. Decided to try some docks along the sunken forest for starts. The wind was coming straight at us, but then the wakeboarders and water skiers decided to have their runs in before going to work. A bit challenging when a series of waves hit you and your trying to stay off the docks. First cast with DS and immediately had a SMB on. About a pound. Third cast, and this time a better fish - 17" long, but didn't weigh him. We kept moving along the docks slowly and picking up more smaller SMB. Also some rock bass jumped into the game. Finally about an hour of wind and wake did me in, so moved further North to get out of the wind. Lots of bumps for awhile, but no connections.

Moved again next to another favored dock. I took a short food break and set my friend up for casting. He quickly hooked into a LMB. Our only one for the day, but a fun fight.

Moved further North where I had brought in a good sized SMB the week before. Within a few casts, started getting 14 inch SMB in the same spot. 4 in a row. My friend was doing well also. Nothing spectacular, but lots of action. I turned around when he said he had a good one on. After a short but hard run, his line broke. So now if you find a red Gamakatsu hook with a tear drop in a nice fish, you can add that to FishingFool's green hook and teardrop weight. My friend suggested I try the same spot since he had to rig again. Usually I don't as the bigger ones spook and sulk. About the fourth cast in that direction, major slam on the DS. I don't think it was even on the bottom yet. No pecking or tasting before gobbling. This thing blew out of there with determination. My drag didn't seem to be slowing it down at all. Lots of line going out and then it shook loose. Quite an exhilarating ride for about 30 seconds. Wish we could have seen what it was. Didn't lose any gear, just the fish. Guess we'll just have to ride that beast another day. Finished fishing at 11:30. Too hot in the sun.

All in all a good day. No monsters, but more action than the prior few weeks. We had some dinks and some decent fish though. Fun fishing with my friend.
