Went out to fish for triploids at Beaver Lake Saturday morning. There was ice the first 30 yards of the WDFW boat launch. The ice thickness varies from 3/4" thick starting 10 feet from the shore and thins out towards the middle. Part of the South side is frozen and the North side is not. We drag the aluminum boat from 40 yards out of the parking lot by the signs towards the shore. There's still snow at the boat launch from 1 to 12 inches in some parts. Someone broke a path in the water, possibly last Friday which was great! Missed about 4. Got excited while the fish nibbles on the power bait and marshmallow and pulling the rod prematurely. We caught 5 triploids from 7 am to 10 am.

One triploid spewed eggs in the boat.

It's the middle of February and there are still triploids in the lake.

Thanks for the report and it’s good to hear that got out finally around here. Your chosen lake was Sammamish, not Beaver by the way. Maybe they can fix this. There should be some Tri’s still around. 3,200 were planted over Oct to Dec. My catch rate was down this year and pretty much everyone else that I talked to that was not on the days of the plant. What part of the lake were you on again? I do well at the far end.

We found them on the far end as well.

I believe I chose Beaver. It was my first post.
I've been an avid reader since switching from playing golf to fishing.

Played competitive golf most of my life religiously and I am in the industry. TMBob stands for TaylorMade Bob. Trout Magnet Bob works for this forum. Started fishing (mainly lake fishing) a little over two years ago and have had my pontoon just about 2 full years. It’s been way beyond my expectations of what I have caught and learned. Anyone that banks or dock fishes for Trout or Warm Water fish, really needs to get out on the water!

Don't think it was a triploid if it had eggs. They typically cant reproduce which is why they grow so fast. All their energy goes into growing, not reproducing.

I agree, Trips do not reproduce.

Fun report! It sounds like you have the addiction! Good work catching the fish.
